In 2008 SCEDU was awarded a Capacity Builders 3 year grant via its Social Enterprise Programme. The programme ended this year after supporting the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of social enterprise business advisors from Yorkshire and Humber. The final year of the programme was opened up to social entrepreneurs around the region too.

An evening of celebrations took place in November 2010 at SCEDU’s 10th anniversary AGM. SCEDU chose to mark the occasion by presenting awards to social enterprises under four categories. The categories were Growth, Innovation, Children and Young People and Green Enterprise. SCEDU was inundated with entries and it was extremely difficult for the independent judging panel to choose. In the end the winners were chosen and received their Award at the celebration event held in November.
