Pedal Ready Co-operative Ltd provides training to cyclists of all ages and promotes cycling as a safe, healthy, environmentally friendly method of getting around and keeping fit and active. We have been established since 2004 and work on a not-for-profit basis, choosing to reinvest surpluses to further the aims of the co-op, rather than distribute them to members. We started as a small group of enthusiasts, passionately determined to spread the word that cycling in our city really is safe and we now have nearly 50 members – most of them trainers – and many links with other cycling organisations across the city and beyond.
We now work with a range of customers - local authorities, public health authorities, universities, school sports trust partners, local businesses and individuals.
Our core work is providing Bikeability cycle training to children and young people, but over our history we have organised and been involved in a wide range of cycling-related activities including one-to-one, family or small group training, commuter route planning, cycle for health courses and “Dr Bike” cycle safety check services, rides and promotional events. We have been fortunate in the continuous support of Sheffield City Council and have just trained our 1000th one-to-one trainee for them!
